Japanese Red
Japanese red maple, appears to be dying, what to do?
I have a large japanese red maple in my backyard, it was there before i moved in, so i’m guessing it’s at least 15-20 years old, if not more.
It has 2 major branches that split off from the trunk, one of the major branches splits off in 3 again, and 2 of these have died, they’re all withered, and where they split off there’s some moss growing.
I have no idea how to tell whether this is a normal thing or indicative of a sickness. It’s been this way for the last 2 years, but hasn’t seem to have gotten worse…
This year i gave it fertilizer and was planning in the summer to cut off the dead sections.
always cut off the dead / just keep giving plenty of water leave hose no sprinkler running at the base every other day
